And right, it wouldn’t make much difference, but between the two I think I prefer the dipping in bucket technique because it’s harder to tell with the paint roller if enough dye is evenly covering the napkin. I had some spots that weren’t sufficiently covered with the paint roller which created “holes” in the design, but it wasn’t too noticeable with the stripes design since there was more white than blue. Bucket is the winner!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the effect, with the irregular lines! So gorgeous and it looks so simple! I really need to try this dye out. I looked at your other Indigo Ink Dyed napkins, and was wondering if you would suggest using the 5 gallon bucket technique for this type of stripes too. I imagine it wouldn’t make any difference how the fabric gets wet with the solution, right? Thanks for sharing! :) Lisa
